Caledonian Classics is located in central Scotland, just 40 minutes from Edinburgh airport and one hour from Glasgow. Our nearest train stations are Stirling and Dunfermline, both fifteen minutes drive away. Our home and base at Dollar in Clackmannanshire is also the site of our four star bed and breakfast business, Kennels Cottage. Staying with us can be the ideal start and end points for a touring holiday anywhere in Scotland, Some of the most open, drivable roads in the world, perfect for classic cars start right on our doorstep! Whether you take the high road or the low road, the ease of driving in Scotland creates an opportunity for you to take one of our classic cars and see everything from ancient ruins and famous castles in Edinburgh, Stirling and Balmoral, to quaint east coast fishing villages, equally steeped in history. From St Andrews, the home of golf, head north through atmospheric glens where battles were fought to snow capped mountain ranges and famous lochs. Or travel to the pretty west coast and its islands you have heard about in ancient songs such as Mull, Arran and Skye. And don´t forget the famous malt whisky trail! Finally, on your travels take the time to enjoy splendid true Scottish food such as Loch Fyne oysters, mussels, langoustines and scallops, magnificent wild salmon and Aberdeen Angus beef.
1974 Triumph Stag
The Triumph Stag, is a proper 4 seater British Convertible, designed by Michelotti and first hit the road in 1970. Our car was first registered 1974, finished in red with a tan leather interior and fitted with the original V8 3000cc engine and manual gear box. We have recently purchased a 1966 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII. The last of the Big Healey’s built, benefiting from the later cockpit layout and the more practical roof. This car is fitted with a six cylinder 2912cc engine, manual gearbox and overdrive, painted in two tone, red over old English white, red leather interior and walnut dash. The Morgan is an exciting new addition to our fleet. The original 4/4 (which stands for 4 wheels and 4 cylinders) dates back to 1936 and has the longest production run of any car model. This truly British sporstcar is still being hand built! Our Morgan is fitted with a lively 1600 engine and a five speed gearbox. The MGB Roadster is the quintessential open top British sports car. Our 1974 car is the last of the much prettier chrome bumper models, finished in teal blue with black leather interior, mohair hood, matching tonneau cover and fitted with a manual gearbox and overdrive. The TR6 was in production for only eight years. It is the last British built Triumph to have a separate chassis and body. Our TR6 was first registered in 1975. It is an original British right hand drive car and therefore fitted with a fuel injected straight six 2500cc engine with manual gearbox and overdrive. This car has been extensively restored and looks fabulous with its walnut dash, leather seats and mohair hood, finished in the rare French blue. The SL's hail form an era when Mercedes Benz was a watchword for bullet proof reliability and understated elegance. This car was manufactured to the highest standards and so strong that the Mercedes engineers dubbed it 'Der Panzerwagen', the model was biult for 18 years.
