The Morris Minor was designed by Alec Issigonis (also famous for designing the Mini) and his team in 1948, and was aimed to provide many of the luxuries and conveniences of a good car but at an affordable price. Available as a saloon (2 and 4 door), an Estate, a panel van, a pick up truck and the Convertible, it could truly be said to have a broad appeal. With great handling and ride comfort - courtesy of rack and pinion steering and torsion bar independent suspension, the Moggie really is the UK version of Germany’s VW Beetle.
Our 1952 4-seat Tourer Convertible is from the original series of production from 1948 to 1953. At the end of this period, just over ¼ million had been sold with an amazing 30% being the convertible model.
Ours is finished in a lovely deep burgundy colour, with a grey hood and black upholstery. It’s original, and has been restored during its long life, so comes with the patina and wear that makes you feel you’re really stepping back in time, but she’s in great condition and a beautiful car to drive. With 4 seats, you can share the experience too. Original and in lovely condition, just load up the picnic and off you go. The very essence of ‘Englishness’!
